The Virtual Interventions and Community Connections for Indigenous Youth (VICCIY) initiative is discovering new ways to help Indigenous youth live healthier lives using virtual reality. The team is dedicated to using new ideas and technology to improve the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical health of Indigenous youth. By mixing modern technology with cultural practices, they support Indigenous youth in ways that honour their traditions. The VICCIY Initiative works with communities to help give youth the tools and opportunities they need to improve their well-being for the long term.
My role in this project was to design and develop the website for the VICCIY Initiative, which involved creating a user-friendly and accessible site that reflects the initiative’s mission and values. I focused on crafting a visual identity that is both modern and respectful of Indigenous culture, while ensuring the website clearly communicates the project’s goals and engages a diverse audience of youth, community members, and supporters.
